and throughout the course of study at Mid-Continent University. As it isnt certain what the students personal feelings are, the following is a model of what might be discussed and
reflected on in such a paper. When I first signed up for this course, I had a deep-down feeling that "business" and "Christian
ethics" were mutually exclusive. I examined all of the things that had gone on in the name of "big business" and wondered about the heartlessness and apparent evil that these
big bosses exhibited. During the early 2000s, thousands lost their jobs because of outright financial lies told by companies such as Enron, WorldCom and Adelphi. And even more recently, because
of greed, the U.S. financial system almost collapsed. The businesses involved in the subprime debacle, and those who decided carving up the mortgages and selling them as investments were thinking
only of themselves, rather than looking out for others. As a result, the economy was on the brink of collapse, and the recession that we finally learned started in late
2007 has been extended that much longer, as business lay off people because they simply cant afford to pay them any more. Given all of this, you can see why,
from a Christian ethics position, I couldnt figure out how business fit into the whole mix. But I was surprised, and pleasantly so,
to learn that my beliefs about and views on business were wrong. Our text, "Business Through the Eyes of Faith," in addition to the class, showed me that business is
