largest educational publisher (Anderson, 2004). The company edits, prints and releases textbooks, workbooks and additional educational materials for elementary schools, higher education and professional markets throughout the world (Anderson, 2004).
This particular unit also operates assessment and skill development divisions, including the Learning Network, which is an educational resource online for teachers
and their students (Anderson, 2004). The academic imprints of Pearson Education include Pearson Addison Wesley, Pearson Longman, Pearson Allyn & Bacon and
Pearson Prentice Hall (Anderson, 2004). Professional imprints include Cisco Press and Adobe Press (Anderson, 2004). Pearson plc itself is a publisher of
many things -- including The Financial Times in the UK. But like many media conglomerates and publishers, Pearson is struggling economically to get itself out of the red and into
the black (and well address this issue later on in the paper). The education unit of the company, however, has held its own, with two-thirds of the revenue for the
