putting aside the economic conditions of late owning a home has always been an important topic for the American people because owning a home is perhaps the ultimate American Dream.
At the same time there are people who would prefer to rent. The following paper examines the two topics individually and then compares and contrasts them. Owning a
Home When a person owns a home they will, generally, be increasing their economic worth by owning that home. This means that as the years go by a house will
become worth more than it was when it was purchased. Of course this has not been the case in the past few years, but on the average this is one
of the reasons why people buy and should buy a home. An owner of a home will also get tax benefits through their filing with the IRS as mortgage interests
are deductible (Home Loan Learning Center, 2008). In owning a home the person can assume that their payments will remain the
same, or they will be well aware of any changes that will occur in relationship to their payments. Most people get a fixed interest rate which is why they know
the actual payment. A home owner has the right to do almost anything they want to a home they own. They can
paint it, deconstruct, construct and make a home their own. It offers a sense of stability for a family because it belongs to them and they do not have to
