is perhaps important to look at the drugs, and the success of the drugs, individually. One author notes that, "Clomiphene is often referred to as the fertility pill" and women
generally appear to have very good results with the medicine in relationship to ovulation but only around half of those will become pregnant for ovulation does not guarantee pregnancy (Georgia
Reproductive Specialists, 2007). In relationship to the drug Tamoxifen it is apparently used a great deal in treating breast cancer but "is also used in the treatment of female infertility
that is caused by problems with ovulation...it acts by blocking oestrogen receptors, this time in a part of the brain called the hypothalamus" this, in effect, increases levels of the
hormones involved with releasing eggs and as such increases changes of egg production and ovulation (NetDoctor, 2007). In the article under analysis the authors note that of the women
in the study they had undergone three treatments using Clomiphene alone, with no results in relationship to a pregnancy (Ghafourzadeh et al., 2004). In one group the amount of this
drug was increased to 100 mg while in the other group the amount of Clomiphene given was 50mg with an introduction of 20 mg of the Tamoxifen (Ghafourzadeh et al.,
