this is difficult to do in the health care field, because costs are often manipulated by forces outside the organization itself, such as the nature of the insurance industry at
any given time, or the lifestyles of the populace being treated. Moreover, the prices of drugs and technologies needed to provide adequate care are not set by the organizations themselves,
and in order to maintain a high standard of care, money must be spent. The solution, it seems, is to spend money in a health care organization in such a
way that it acts as a true investment, transforming the organization to become inherently more efficient and capable overtime, repeating exponential returns on the initial investment of capital. In the
twenty-first century, one technology that is rapidly emerging as a sound investment for any health care organization is the adoption of electronic health records. This paper will provide an overview
of a comprehensive plan necessary to implement organizational change in regards to implementing electronic health records. The case study to be utilized in this paper is that of Brookes
Army Medical Center. In particular, the Burn Unit at this army hospital often acts as the first and last agent of quality care in the lives of wounded troops who
require care such as skin grafts, burn surgeries, and so on. The Unit already operates some of the most innovative technologies and surgical techniques in the country, as its federal
