surrounds the topic of outsourcing. Critics contend that the practice of US companies outsourcing jobs to foreign entities is draining our country of much needed revenue. In actuality,
it can be contended that both US economy and foreign economy benefit from outsourcing. US economy benefits because products can be created more economically and thus sold at a
greater profit. US economy also benefits because products produced in other countries can be purchased quite economically when imported. One of the hardest criticisms of outsourcing, of course,
is that the practice results in the loss of US jobs. In reality, in many cases higher paying jobs are created in our country as a result of outsourcing
than are lost because of it. Barrera (2004) contends that international trade depends on the ability to shift resources for the comparative
advantage of all. While small-scale outsourcing has been a component of business throughout history, the practice gained head in the early 1980s. It enabled the expedition and quality
of services which could more effectively be performed outside ones own company. Indeed, outsourcing is one of the most effective strategic actions available to companies facing the need to
cut back on operations while at the same time focus more clearly on core business. Typically these businesses reorganize their business practices by downsizing, restructuring or re-engineering, and contracting
out various functions and tasks. Outsourcing frees up management resources. It allows the costs of producing a product to be shared with
