Software Date: December 13, 2007 In response to your request to assess ACT!TM customer relationship management (CRM) software for real estate and Microsoft
Outlook(r) products, following is assessment of each. Though the situation may change in the future, currently it appears that Outlook(r) is the better choice for the real estate office
and individual brokers. ACT!TM CRM Software ACT! promises to provide full time and contact management services for the real estate broker, and indeed
it looks intriguing. A fuller version, Premium, is available that appears to be better received by those who have been using it and who have chosen to write online
reviews, but there is a tremendous cost differential between the two packages. The basic version is about $170; the premium version is well over $400 even from off-price vendors
and approaches $500 through some online retailers. The primary attraction of ACT! is its assistance for the broker in organizing time and contacts.
There are many add-ins available - at additional cost, of course - but the basic package seems to operate much in same manner as Outlook, and the publisher promises
that ACT! will work well with Outlook. The basis for rejecting ACT! as the single CRM software package to choose for uniformity throughout
the organization is the customer reviews available at Amazon.com. There are only two reviews, which alone could skew the view of ACT!. Both are uncomplimentary at best, however.
