manner in which people go about their business after the death of a loved one. It is a poem about life, real life, wherein most people do simply continue with
their life, happy that death did not meet them when it meets another. It is also a poem about how people can simply give up on their own life. The
following paper provides a tutorial look at the message of the poem, that message being the complexity and diversity of life. Out, Out by Robert Frost The student
can see many different perspectives of life in this particular poem. For example Frost is well known for his use of nature in presenting deep images of life, with or
without mankind. In this poem he notes the following: "Sweet-scented stuff when the breeze drew across it./ And from there those that lifted eyes could count/ Five mountain ranges one
behind the other/ Under the sunset far into Vermont" (Frost 3-6). From these lines the student could argue that he is foretelling the death, in light of the time of
day being "sunset." This offers an image of an ending of some sort. But, at the same time there is a simplistic beauty to the surrounding as the smell of
the wood is in the air and one can see the beauty of the mountains if they only looked up. It is a beautiful image and one that clearly does
not offer the reader any sense of clear foreboding, unless they have read the poem before and know what will happen. In essence, this excerpt speaks of life, simple life,
the beauty of nature and the smells of such work in a beautiful setting. This is symbolic of life and how simple and wondrous it can be, in nature and
