the involvement of Iago, the truth is that Iago was a manipulative man who played on the weaknesses of others. Through his interaction we see things such as the power
of jealousy, for both Iago and Othello, we see conditions of human nature exposed, and many other things which offer us a play that is powerful and real. In the
following paper we examine many of these conditions and elements. Othello With both Iago and Othello we see powerful examples of jealousy. With Othello the jealousy is incredibly
obvious for it is that weakness which Iago plays on throughout the story. Iago knows that Othello is weak to some extent, at least where it concerns his love, and
he knows just how to play on that weakness, instilling doubt and confusion in the mind of Othello. Interestingly enough, everyone around Iago seems to trust him when it comes
to their own personal relationship with Iago, but they know he is not trustworthy where others are concerned. As such Iago is believed by Othello in regards to all that
is told and insinuated concerning Othellos wife. This brings about the jealousy possessed by Othello. As for Iago, Iago is jealous of the positions that others hold. He feels
he should rank higher than he does and he also feels that he should have Desdemona. In these regards we see a man who is clearly feeling as though he
has been passed over in regards to what he feels rightfully belongs to him. Such a character is surely one to watch out for in light of the fact that
they seek revenge for all they have not received. This type of anger and frustration is the type that sees the weaknesses of others, because they also hold these weaknesses.
