Churchs stance on Original Sin The Catechism of the Catholic Church indicates that the doctrine of original sin can be understood as the "reverse side of the Good News that
Jesus is the savior of all men, that all need salvation and that salvation is offered to all through Christ" ("Section Two," 1994). The account of Adam and Eves fall
in Genesis utilizes figurative language, but it nevertheless affirms the reality of a "primal event," that is, a "a deed that took place at the beginning of the history of
man" ("Section Two, 1994). The process of Revelation, which has continued to enlighten theologians throughout the Churchs history has continued to reveal insight into the truth that "in order to
