no date). This approach lends itself to several other unconstructive characteristics, not the least of which include a dictatorial, controlling and perfectionistic environment. It is no surprise, therefore,
that communication is all but absent between and among the various levels of hierarchy, posing considerable problems when it comes to people knowing what their responsibilities are. Moreover, this
lack of interaction manifests in a number of negative ways to further imperil the organizations survival. "They gossip, take sides and keep secrets. They are quick to blame
other people and slow to take responsibility for mistakes, so there is minimal accountability. People argue without getting anywhere. Conflict of any kind is usually avoided and people
will not confront a problem even when it is glaringly obvious" (Impact Factory, no date). Years can go by without serious problems being addressed, ultimately leading to exasperation and
resentment. Regrettably, these feelings are acted upon in other unsavory ways such as undermining, backstabbing, gossip spreading, obstructionism and failing to pass along pertinent information. And because upper
management is in a constant state of inaccessibility, these symptoms of negativity spiral directly from the upper echelon all the way down to subordinates. In short, personal needs are
