or develop the organization. Burrell and Morgan (1979) noted the benefits of being able to view an organization from multiple perspectives, arguing that each perspective would have a number of
differing assumptions about the world and as such will add depth and potential richness to an organizational analysis and that these different assumptions were not necessarily contradictory. They also looked
at the use of organizational theory and it use in the practical as well as the academic world. In any organizations the way leadership and management as well as
strategy take place, along with the many different support issues such as motivation, will reflect the ideas and views of those running the organization. In turn these processes will be
impacted by the way that the world is perceived as well as the beliefs and the assumptions of those in charge as well as those working within the organization. Hart
(2006) argued that this can be as simple as seeing a firm in terms of an analogy, for example, as a well oiled machine, or as a network of functional
elements, this will impact on the way that there is a view of the organization. The value of a multiple perspective approach this is an increased level of input.
From an academic perceptive the benefits are direct and indirect. In an indirect manner an understanding of the different underlying paradigms stimulates further study and development, of both then paradigms
and the way that they may be applied to organizations (Hart, 2006). In a more direct manner that increased level of consideration and understanding may change the way that information
