assessment will help to identity why a purchase should be made and also helps an executive set priorities if there are various needs (Deinstadt, 2005). A needs assessment
that is effective will be objective (Deinstadt, 2005). Yet, in order to accomplish this feat, employee ideas and opinions should be sought. In evaluating organizational needs, a variety of
methods may be employed. Interviews or questionnaires may be given to employees to see how they feel, and what they might add, about needs. Such a move would serve to
increase employee morale and motivation, leading to increased productivity, which is the goal. Questionnaires and interview questions may be found in the Appendices. In order to relay how the needs
assessment would be valuable, it is assumed that the questionnaires have been given out and the organization evaluated. In a hypothetical situation, it is assumed that a government agency has
a surplus. They want to use the surplus for their employees so that they will be more content, and in turn, provide better customer service. The organization has the choice
of building a daycare center on premises or implementing on-site medical care. The former will include a full service day care facility at a reduced rate and the on-site medical
care will offer all employees free medical care for acute situations such as colds and flu. The rationale for each proposal is that it will make life easier for the
