for firms considering expansion into this area. 2. Organizational Learning Organizational learning is defined by Argyris and Schon (1978) as "the detection and correction of error". This is
indicative of the role it plays at both a formal and an informal level, with the ability of an organization, and its actors, to learn from experience. Fiol and Lyles
(1985) give a more comprehensive definition stating that it is "the process of improving actions through better knowledge and understanding". Dodgeson gives a definition that is useful in the
context of consideration for differing cultures as he states it is seen as the way that firms will gather and utilise knowledge regarding the activities in order to improve efficiency
including improvements to processes and to the knowledge and skills base of the workforce. There are many models that look to the process of learning and organizational learning,
from the application of general learning concepts such as Kolb with the concept of the learning cycle; is a cycle that are subsequently building on each other with the stages
