A consultants organizational analysis is often a critical tool in conducting an effective audit of an organization. This paragraph helps the student introduce the hypothetical example being used in this paper. In order to understand how organizational analysis can promote fundamental improvements in an organizations success and profitability, one might look at a hypothetical example. Suppose that a manufacturing organization, Woodys Veneer Factory, had hired one as a consultant in order to determine the primary causes of several alarming trends. This includes a loss of money, increases in garbage fees, and a loss in organizational production. In fact, upon investigated recorded data, it becomes clear that veneer production is at an all time low, and that the organization is paying nearly twice as much as it did last quarter for the recycling of discarded materials. Suppose that the problems went deeper than this, however, and impacted personnel at the most fundamental and intimate level. For example, when visiting the facilitys superintendent, Max, one day, suppose one witnessed Dave, a floor manager, standing outside of Maxs office with an injury to his forehead and eye. When asking Max about the nature of the injury, his response indicates that it was inflicted by another employee, quality control office Ken Howk, who "got upset with Dave".
