Information gathered from IT systems or the use of organizational metrics can be used to facilitate change management through informing the decisions related to project management and the systems development life cycle. 1. Role of CIO Explores the role of the CIO in an organization and the methods by which the CIO is responsible for constructing a flexible and functional information system that delivers high value to all levels of the organization. 2. Flow of information in organization Outlines the "path" through which information flows within the organization, informing processes and strategic decisions. II. Project Management Project management is a vitally important aspect of contemporary organizational management, wherein projects are managed at the micro-level through exploring the inputs and outputs associated with each phase of the project, determining who is responsible for the outcomes, and establishing metrics such as budget, key deliverables, and deadlines. Project management allows for projects to proceed more smoothly, and deviations from specification or schedule are easier to spot.
