more threatening to the companys overall success than anything else (Poole, 1998). Being able to actualize, even if just in ones mind, the corporations ultimate goal when faced with
adversity is instrumental in fortifying personnel with the necessary motivation to carry forward, as well as refining the method of performance improvement. A particular point in a corporations existence when
both the vision and mission statement become even more critical with regard to the companys continued success is when change occurs, which is precisely where organizational diagnosis is needed most.
Characteristic of the change of CEO positions is also the alteration of any existing vision and mission statement. Indeed, if a company has reached the point where a
new CEO is brought in to salvage what is left of the corporate image, it is very likely that a drastic modification is necessary, as well, for the original vision
