of the company to the business strategy and allow for an advantage by way of differentiation (Radin, 2003). In this article the company studied is Praxair Distribution, Inc, a supplier
of medical and specialist gas across the US. The emphasis is the process that was followed, looking at the step by step process of bring about change, starting at the
top and then workings its way down to a further 175 managers (Radin, 2003). The initial stage is that of communication, with Wayne Yakich, the CEO, implementing the change
with instructions to his immediate team, it is this team that then run the project for change (Radin, 2003). This was achieved with the formation of a three man team
to focus on the changes. There were many changes introduced which unclouded tools to assess the companys performance, such as employee surveys
and customer score cards, the creation of a reference book for employees with permanent information, performance assessments on an annual basis and great levels of consultation with district managers (Radin,
2003). The theory regarding change and the need for change to emanate from the top is well known, but in this case it is also very visible, with a great
increase in communication through meetings, teleconferences and even an in-house publication, in these there is a high level of involvement of the senior management. This visibility increases the perception of
