condition does not improve with the death of a son, which seriously strains the relationships that exist. In addressing the condition of the married couple, the parents, Calvin and Beth
Jarret, we present the following paper which offers a treatment plan that integrates behavioral, object relations, and solution-focused theoretical approaches. By addressing these social work approaches we present a possible
form of therapy for the couple. Behavioral Interventions The behavior of the couple is very cold and stinted, indicating they have each somewhat withdrawn into their own world,
only relating to one another when it seems necessary. Beth is very controlling, and essentially hides all her inner emotions and deep desires. She focuses, instead, on material realities, insisting
life be a particular way, and that her family present themselves as socially acceptable. Calvin, a man raised in an orphanage, is clearly one who wishes to please and be
accepted, doing whatever he is told. Neither of these people truly know what it is they do. They do not clearly understand they are not communicating and that their
behavior does nothing but cause more problems. Beth is withdrawn and cold, while Calvin, also withdrawn, tries to do the right thing to please all. They do not understand that
they are hiding their real emotions, that they are running from their life, and from each other. In order to clearly help Beth and Calvin they must be made aware
of why they behave as they do. They have obviously shut out their past as it teaches one of their own behavior. Beth needs to be given information which allows
her to see this, as does Calvin. Each individual should be talked with separately, and allowed to give information concerning their past. When such information is given the worker can
