World. There have been many books about purpose in life, balancing ones life, prioritizing and so on. MacDonalds book provides a primer in these and other lessons and he includes
specific examples that help the reader put his ideas into action. For example, MacDonald does not just talk about the importance of organizing ones office, he tells the reader how
to do it. The major value of this book is the lesson that we need to take time to think about what one is doing. He points out there are
many very good people in the world what emphasize the wrong things, like material wealth. People pursue goals and achievements, which is fine as long as we place the correct
degree of importance on them. Alongside this lesson is the idea that it is essential to know who you are and one way to learn that is to know who
you are not. He uses John the Baptist as a fine example - when John was asked who he was, he responded with who he was not, he was not
Christ. MacDonald uses real examples from his own life, from Scripture and from other persons. He covers every aspect of life and shows the difference between the external and
the internal, the public life versus the private life and we each need a private world where we can become refreshed and recharged as we spend concentrated and purposeful time
with God. His discussion of time should be enlightening for many readers. In todays busyness, we always hear people bemoan the lack of time they feel. MacDonald makes it clear
