services, the people are already there. In some churches, Christian education classes are held for children during the service or during part of the service. In either case, people only
need to move from the chapel to a classroom. The challenges include keeping the people there for the classes. Some churches face the challenge of having a very small population
in age groups. For instance, some churches have very few young children or few adolescents. A core challenge is designing a curriculum for each age group that will be appealing,
enticing and exciting enough that they want to attend. Christian education at any level must be Christ-centered or God-centered. It is conducted in homes, schools, at church. The Bible is
the primary source for this type of education. Scripture is accepted as the Word of God and therefore, this source is inerrant. The strongest challenge to Christian education is secularism
(Bamalyi, 2009). Research in psychology and science have led to new truths about the world, humans, nature, and the universe. Christian educators must be able to meld these fields that
are sometimes divergent. Edelen (October 19, 2010) commented that churches in England and in America are failing in Christian education. Edelen identified some of the failures: not transmitting a
basic Christian doctrine; undervaluing talents of the more artistic members of the congregation; failing to connect the creative vision with the Gospel; continuing to use processes that no longer work
in a changing society; alimentation has set in through ineffective processes and a bunker mentality. The overall result is that fewer people attend church services and those who do attend
