in business practices (2004). This is the point when the business begins to develop more fully and goes beyond mere dabbling and becomes a more serious venture. Of course, when
going into any business, a business plan is very important. To prepare an effective operations plan for an e-business, several questions should be answered first. The initial question is, what
is the capital available to fund the operation? The second question might be, "in what niche does the business fit" or whether or not the market is ready for another
competitor. Is there room for a new business in the area? Third, what will make this e-business better than its primary competitors? How can the new business gain market share?
The first question is important but not as important as when one considers brick and mortar stores. The obvious advantage of e-businesses is that they requisite little capital in some
instances. Thus, someone can begin such a business practically on a shoestring if they have a good idea. Still, many net businesses do consider money as an obstacle and they
do create capital before beginning. Some new business owners had teamed up with venture capitalists, something that fostered a new community pertinent to the small businesses (Rosa, 2000). A
new breed of dot-coms does differed from old fashioned mom and pop stores (2000). Both are of course entrepreneurial innovations, but things are different. The net can be global whereas
