of medical ethics, protocols for clients rights and ethical standards of care common in the modern day. In the modern era, the focus on patient rights and patient well-being
is paramount. In Cuckoos Nest, the central character, Randall Patrick McMurphy, is sent to an institutional setting for mental illness from a prison farm, after considerable rebellion are bipolar
characteristics. Rather than responding in a manner that would show support for the psychological functioning of the patient, McMurphy is placed in a setting that immediately causes irritation and
anxiety. McMurphy reacts terribly to the quiet calmness of the ward. His elevated mood does not have a place to thrive without
interaction from the other ward mates. So, he begins to engage them in all sorts of activities, many of which are sexually linked in some way. For example, he teaches
some of the inmates to play poker with pornographic cards. He smuggles hookers in for several of the ward mates, and he threatens to expose himself to the head nurse.
His ego knows no bounds as he frequently brags about his sexual conquests and his ability to do what he pleases. As the movie progresses, the observed eye may be
