the April 19, 1995 Oklahoma City truck bombing in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Building was considered the deadliest terrorist act ever committed on U.S. soil. Timothy James McVeigh
was tried, convicted and executed for his involvement in the bombing that killed 168 people (including women and children) and left hundreds others injured. He died at age 33 by
lethal injection. His co-conspirators, who were also convicted but not executed, were Terry Nichols and Michael Fortier. The building was strategically chosen because it served as a Federal Government complex
housing regional offices for the Social Security Administration (SSA), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF). Recruiting offices for the Army and Marine
Corps were also housed in the complex as well as a day care center. McVeigh and his cohorts targeted this building as well as that date to seek revenge against
the government for the Waco Siege that killed nearly 100 people exactly two years earlier. They also wanted to show their contempt towards the federal government for its strict anti-gun
laws and what they viewed as tyrannical domestic and international policies. McVeigh, a veteran of the U.S. Army, traveled the country expressing anti-government rhetoric claiming America was too liberal and
