also willing to trample over these men for his ultimate goals. Odysseus has the ability to raise moral and to kill moral with just a few words. In Book 4,
Odysseuss anger causes the death of Democoon and the end of Trojan morale, resulting in their retreat. Palamedes and Odysseus do not have a strong relationship from the start. Palamedes
is the man who went out of his way to prove that Odysseus was not crazy and could go to war. This, naturally, would cause Odysseus to have a slight
grudge against Palamedes. Unfortunately for Palamedes this grudge causes Odysseus to set out to kill Palamedes. He is the anti-Achilles. Where Odysseus thinks
things through and plans accordingly, Achilles acts by impulse, which causes his early death. While these two men are very different, and Achilles has every reason to dislike Odysseus for
calling Achilles out when he was hiding from war, Odysseus and Telamonian Ajax retrieves Achilless dead body in the middle of fighting. Unfortunately, both men had ulterior motives for retrieving
the body. Eventually, Odysseus proves to be the bravest of the Greeks, humiliating Ajax. Ajax ultimately kills himself. Odysseus ultimately gives the
armor that he fought with Ajax for to Pyrrhus, Achilless son. He does this not because he felt Pyrrhus would want his fathers armor, but because there was a prophesy
that stated the Troy could not be defeated without Phrrhus. So while we see that Odysseus is willing to work with men toward a common goal, he is also willing
