change. But these changes are small, everyday ones that, for the most part, arent disruptive to an organizations fabric? But what happens when
a major change comes about? Such as, when an department director who held the position for more then 10 years is fired suddenly, and her subordinate is suddenly required to
step into the role? The student can use the following for the case study that prompted the change. This actually happened in a
department in a non-profit medical association in which I worked. The department was responsible for developing and conducting business-oriented workshops for health care providers.
When I joined the department, the director, John, had been at the helm for half a decade. It only took a few weeks for me to wonder why hed
had the job for so long. He was disorganized, could never get anything done, and consistently yelled at her staff. Whenever anything went wrong, rather than figuring out how to
