great deal more information and theyre more durable. Another storage method that requires no disks is dubbed "online backup service," or OBS.
These services have come into general usage, especially for those who are on the go a great deal, and who, for whatever their reasons, cant lug a lot of storage
devices around. Its great for a BlackBerry user who doesnt have a lot of storage space, a laptop user who doesnt want to store a bunch of stuff on his/her
computer and even a desktop user, though products like these are generally more advantageous to people who are on the road a lot and rely on mobile devices.
The premise behind OBS is that youre given a specific account (through a subscription), and then you can use that account to store e-mail,
documents and anything else thats digital. Depending on how much space you get with the service, you can store just about anything that comes out of a computer or off
the Internet. Pros and Cons The benefits of an OBS is obvious -- storage is instantaneous, and most reputable companies have redundancies,
so that if their storage goes out, youll still have access to your information. The other benefit is that you can access that information from almost any computer, cell phone,
BlackBerry or mobile device that you use. This means that, if you need to access a report, but youre no where near your office, you can access your OBS account,
