etc; II. Discussion & Analysis A.) It was not possible for O.J. to have had a genuinely fair trial because everyone in the country had already been exposed to the
media version of the story when it came time for jury selection. 1.) We all made our own opinions a bout the trial based
on secondhand evidence and media opinions. 2.) Television and other news influenced our own decision-- deciding for the public whether O.J. was innocent or guilty long before the arrival of
any official verdict. B.) This is probably a case that will long be remembered as having been decided much more on the
basis of emotion than on that of law. C.) We were nonetheless left with a pile of evidence to believe that O.J. was guilty-- but the defense did evidently do
a good job poking holes in the prosecutions case and giving Mr. Simpson the most fair trial possible -- finding him not
guilty since otherwise was not proven beyond a reasonable doubt. III. Conclusion A.) While the outcome was probably fair for O.J., it was not necessarily so for the American
judicial system. 1.) This case showed us how money can help turn the cards in someones favor-- O.J. might have never "gotten off" had he been poor. B.) We learned
to criticize "errors" of the trial without knowing much about the inner-workings of the legal system ourselves --everything was done in hindsight. C.)
This trial will ultimately influence how we all view our own legal system-- but it has indeed also evidenced many of the systems benefits as well.
