was accused of a heinous crime of passion. On the conclusion of the trial many were dismayed at the behavior of the media; the use of race as a defense
by the attorneys and the sequestering of the jury. When it finally came down to it, the members of the jury had to overcome quite a few psychological obstacles and
dilemmas to arrive at their conclusion. In brief, on June 12, 1994 Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were found dead, the victims of a brutal stabbing(Chronology 2003). O.J.
Simpson is notified of the murders while he is on a business trip in Chicago. He returns to L.A. where he is questioned by police. He is released, but shortly
after the funeral services he learns that he is about to be charged with their deaths. Allegedly panicked, O.J. Simpson flees in his white Bronco down the highway, pursued by
the police and caught on national television. The jury is selected. Despite the best intentions, jurors hear much of the pre-trial media coverage of high profile cases. This was the
case in the trial of O.J. Simpson. The demographic of the jury was as follows: eight black, one white, one hispanic, two mixed race; eight women, four men(Chronology 2003). Before
the jury members were selected, they were not under any direction not to watch the local newscasts and so would have been exposed to the onslaught of trial by media
which was ongoing when they were summoned as jurors. Having seen the clips and the bloody sidewalk which all of the major networks were showing, the potential juror had to
