extra sugar should be kept under 265 calories per day. As I enter middle-age, I am very aware of my family history and wish to avoid the health complications
for which I am at-risk. My genetic inheritance makes me vulnerable to both type 2 diabetes and osteoporosis. Women in my family tend to gain weight after menopause and become
stooped over, a clear sign of the bone degeneration that comes with osteoporosis. Current research studies indicate that type 2 diabetes is becoming epidemic in the U.S. and I want
to avoid being one of its victims by maintaining a healthy weight and following a diet that will help me avoid both of these health risks. Type 2 diabetes
Risk factors: Science does not yet fully know why some individuals develop type 2 diabetes and others do not, but they do know that being overweight, sedentary and having a
