In fact, the company has been sued for false advertising because Nutella is more like a candy bar than a health food. Nutella is forbidden from advertising the Nutella is a great way for your children to start their day because after all, it is made from hazel nuts (Fong, 2012). The mother of a four-year-old brought the class action lawsuit and the makers of Nutella must pay $3 million. Parents who are in a hurry but who also want to provide their children with a nutritious breakfast or snack would have been drawn to a product that would allow their children to leave for school with a health breakfast the child would actually eat. Nutellss marketing offered the solution. Sales would naturally decrease after this news was just released this month. Making such a dramatic change in their advertising will affect Nutellas sales. The reputation has been tarnished and they must now develop a new campaign that will bring customers back but that will speak the truth. Nutella is now a brand that is recognized.
