team since , on a 3 day schedule (11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays). Utica Avenue Dialysis, Inc. is a facility that has 30
dialysis stations and currently provides services for approximately 100 clients daily. This facility is operated as one of many centers in the New York City area, and has been
recognized as a center approved for Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement. In my employment at Utica Avenue Dialysis, I have worked primarily as
a nursing team leader, in a cubical that provides services for approximately 16-20 patients a day. I have also worked as a charge nurse in this same facility, and
as a staff nurse, during which time I was responsible for clinical set-up, pretreatment assessments, cannulation, treatment initiation, medication administration, ongoing monitoring and documentation, post-treatment assessment and patient discharge.
In recent months, my position as evening charge nurse has increased my responsibilities to also include managing the total nursing workload, and assessing different functions to ensure the smooth operation
of the clinic. Over the course of the last 9 months, my position has provided me with the opportunity to assess the function of the center as a
whole, and has also provided a basis for understanding the variety of nursing roles in this environment. At the same time, I have also learned a substantial amount about
