Many people believe that the best and most important knowledge is gained through books but that may not be true for without experience, hands on trial and error so to speak, a person truly does not develop. The following paper examines how not everything that is learned is contained in books and also examines how experience is perhaps the best teacher. Not Everything that is Learned is Contained in Books It is quite clear that knowledge contained in books is very important to a persons education. There are books which help teach mathematics, language arts, arts, music, history, science, biology and any subject one could envision. They are incredibly useful for teachers as well as students in teaching various subjects and information about subjects. Books are also invaluable in relationship to personal development through literature as well as perhaps biographies and autobiographies. Through such books a person can discover more things about themselves, and new things about themselves, something not often found in books concerned with other subject matter such as mathematics. In essence, books are incredibly priceless in relationship to what they can teach a person and how they can assist a person in their own development of identity and growth. Books are powerful and very useful tools in learning. But, they are not the only way to learn and in the end one could say that no matter what one learns in a book it is only through experience, even hands on trials based on information learned in a book, that a person truly develops and grows and learns.
