be a relationship between fascism and Naziism. If nothing else, they arose at the same time and went against Enlightenment thinking. Interestingly, the rise of the Nazi party in
Germany would occur while fascism was popular in Italy. Both types of government were controlling. While not the same thing, there is a similarity that cannot be denied. Also, much
took place prior to the rise of the Third Reich. In fact, the postwar period is significant in how it affected both nations. With that in mind, might Nietzsche be
the casual link? While it may be the case that fascist and Nazi leaders read Nietzsche, what does that mean? Does it mean Nietzsche was dispensing fascist ideas? A student
claims that this is the case and refers to Nietzsches "theories of the noble class, Rome vs. Israel, racial purity, sickness and health, pleasure of the creditor, and/or the true
redeemer figure presented in The Genealogy of Morals." In reference to these theories then, the historical developments in Germany and Italy are relevant. It seems that in part, Nietzsches ideas
could have prompted anti-Semitism and the government types that would culminate in Europe. There have been some writers to notice the relationship. On the other hand, the alignment
of the ideas noted above with fascism is a stretch. Yes, Nietzsche noticed those things, but he did not endorse evil or immorality. Still, there are a myriad of authors
who tie Nietzsche to fascism but that may be more aligned with a conspiracy theory mentality than anything else. After all, Nietzsche gave the world a new way of thinking
