determining the order and multiple threads being processed. Movements within network architecture have focused on the ability to increase permanence and avoid bottle necks. In the early to mid
19990s the emergence of super-threading was proposed; the use of threading with the software optimised in the form of parallel threading that can support thread allocation, the optimisation of the
thread creation and the tuning of granularity (Sakai et al, 1993). However in a network environment there are many problems, including the lack of resources at peak usage times, hence
the need to look at concepts such as grid computing and autonomic systems. When looking at the way in which threading can be used, but also can benefit from
optimisation we need to consider how the constraints of resources can be managed with this technology. Here we need to look at the concept and application of hyper threading and
how this can overcome processing limitations. Slower system, even where there are no single culprits acting as a drain on resources may also become slow with the way that
processing take place. It was as a result of this that multi-threading was developed. This was a technology to allow concurrent processing to take place. Hyper-threading is an extension of
this technology taking threading to the next logical stage. Hyper-threading technology has a great deal of potential when looking to increase the
efficiency of both software and hardware in a cost effective way. Hyper-threading with the use of hardware and software working together. The first aspect is the hardware.
Hyper-threading is achieved by the processor having circuitry added to it to make it appear as if it were two processors, fooling the software, although
