more negative effects than positive. Most people do not simply drink one glass of wine with a meal and thus ingest alcohol in a manner that is beneficial. Most people
who drink likely do so in larger quantities or in quantities that do more harm than good. The following paper argues that alcohol is far more of a negative consumable
product than a positive one. The Negative Effects of Alcohol In looking at various articles anyone can find many negative effects of alcohol. For example, one can see
that many youth are needlessly harmed through drinking, how drinking reduces a persons level of awareness and thus can put themselves in danger, how alcohol is often related to things
like crime and domestic abuse, and how peoples lives can be utterly and completely destroyed by alcohol. In one article it is noted, for example, how "binge drinkers reported
an average of four binge episodes per month, and consumed an average of eight drinks per binge, ranging from 9.8 drinks per binge among those ages 18 to 24 to
6.4 drinks per binge for those age 65 and older" (Consumer Health News). One can assume that such binge drinkers are far more likely to get in car accidents and
engage in behavior that puts them and others at risk. In addition, one can see that many binge drinkers may well be
of college age which brings into play another article/study which states the following: "over one-half of all sexual assaults are committed by men who have been drinking alcohol, while approximately
50% of victims also report alcohol use at the time of the assault...women in college who use drugs, attend a university with high drinking rates, belong to a sorority, and
