to a single or particular person rather than to a group or an organization. Relationship usually refers to the way in which individuals feel and behave towards each other. Thus,
the definitions of these two words would suggest that a personal relationship means individuals relates to each other in an interactive give-and-take sense. Given that caveat, the rest of
this essay will describe the kinds of relationships humans can develop with God. The Bible does not talk about having a personal relationship with God but it does
talk about a personal God. Sper acknowledges that one does not develop a personal relationship with God insofar as one hears God in such an interaction as a personal
friendship. Christians (and Jews, also), however, say they have a personal relationship with God in that believe they know God, hear His messages, and are led in their actions by
