throughout history it has been the Europeans and the European descendants that have ultimately controlled the nation, thus leaving most other cultures to exist as minorities in the greater scheme
of things. The following paper examines two cultures, Native Americans and Japanese Americans, and compares and contrasts them. Native Americans and Japanese Americans One of the most obvious
similarities between these two cultures is that they are both minorities in the United States. While they are minorities with a very different history, they are still very much minorities
and as such exist in a minority position within the nations society. In their existence as minorities they are also obvious minorities, in relationship to their physical appearance. For example,
some minorities are not necessarily easily seen, at first glance, as a minority but Native Americans and Japanese Americans are generally very different physically from European descendents. They have olive
or brown colored skin and facial features which clearly set them apart from the majority. This puts them in a very obvious
position as a minority in the nation. Interestingly enough, in the past the nation has seen many people as minorities but because they were white, such as Italians and Irish,
they ultimately became part of the majority as their facial features and skin color were not obviously different. But, with the Native Americans and the Japanese Americans they will always
be seen as minorities, or at least as minorities until the nation no longer sees color and physical traits as an identifying faction concerning people.
