more like simple life struggles. But, in truth, any experience in life can be seen as an adventure and journey if we look closely and see the wisdom and truth
that can be learned. It is an ancient reality, and a reality that is still with us today. The following paper, with this in mind, examines how one particular event
or journey in a students life can be reflective of the broad journey experienced by Odysseus in Homers Odyssey. An Adventure and Lesson As a student an individual
generally has left home to embark upon "adventures" that will change their lives forever. They do not, however, generally intend to return home when their journey is done, but they
are embarking on a journey that is similar to Odysseus in that they are doing their duty and then expecting to move forward to find a place, home, that can
be improved through ones experiences. With Odysseus we have a man who has experienced 10 years of war. This can readily be related to at least 4 years of
school. There are battles to be won for the student in terms of learning, conflicts, learning cooperation, learning self control, learning individual morals and ethics, and generally being tested as
though they were in a war. Their life is perhaps not threatened, but they must struggle to become more honorable and noble as they grow and learn, all of which
are very similar to the experiences internally realized by Odysseus. Odysseus was tempted by many things, but always kept his vision of returning home in his mind. A student
is often tempted by many things as they go through their journey of education. They may be tempted by the opposite sex, drugs, alcohol, promise of a great opportunity, or
