The Story Once there was a beautiful girl named Christine. She had a childhood sweetheart named Raoul, and she promised to love him forever. But life doesnt always work the
way people want it to, and when Christines mother died, her grieving father moved far away, taking his young daughter with him. At first Raoul was unhappy, but he soon
got busy with school and forgot about the little girl with the curly hair that he had promised to marry when they grew up. For her part, Christine found herself
living in a busy city where her father had gotten a job. It was very different from the seashore where she lived as a child, and she never got used
to the noise and the crowds and the bustling streets. The only thing that made it bearable was the fact that they lived near a park, and it was beautiful.
Christine spent as much time as possible there, and soon found out that the gardener was a man named Erik. Christine, with the innocent enthusiasm of a child, began to
spend hours with Erik, learning the names of all the trees and flowers. When she started high school and had problems with her studies, he helped her. Her grades improved
greatly under his tutelage, and when her father contracted the illness that finally took his life, it was Erik whose strength saw her through the grief and helped her start
her life again. As for Erik, he found himself in a quandary that had come upon him without his realizing it. At first, he had been amused by the little
girl with the long dark hair. But as she grew into a young woman he realized that she was highly intelligent and loved learning, and he began to take pleasure
