in relationship to the end of his career. The following paper examines the ideals and conquests of Napoleon and then argues that his revolutionary ideals and conquests had a positive
effect on Europe because he ultimately failed to do what he desired to do. Napoleons Ideals and Conquests Napoleon stands as
one of the most analyzed characters in the history of Europe. This is because he was a genius and lived in a time when social and political upheavals made his
rise to power possible. It is also because he revolutionized aspects or perspectives concerning warfare, and generally approached the endeavor of revolutionary war in a way no one else could
at the time. One author notes, "Napoleon was one of the greatest military minds in the history of warfare. He expanded the conquests of France from her revolutionary borders to
that of an Empire that stretched from Spain to the steppes of Russia" (Dean, 2006). This author further notes that his genius
was not only seen in his revolutionizing warfare, but also "in the refinement of existing means" (Dean, 2006). In this one sees that he did not really create any new
revolutionary ideas, or new methods of engaging in war, but that he had the knowledge to utilize a great deal of warfare information, history and perspectives, in the wars he
