Nalls landscape "Versilliana Bridge" shares this characteristic, as this work also has a deconstructed frame that is very much a part of the overall presentation ("Landscapes"). The following paper offers
an evaluative overview of this work. An interesting characteristic of "Versilliana Bridge" is that the bridge itself is not what grabs the attention of the viewer at first glance.
Rather the bridge, that is, the actual painting is viewed as but one component in the overall work, which consists of a deconstructed frame of aged wood and a woven
section that may be reed or wood of a darker hue. Furthermore, the painting is set within a strips of mosaic that border it on the left and right. The
mosaic on the left is predominantly yellow, with a brown print, reminiscent of a quilt, with square that become progressively smaller as they blend into the border of the painting.
On the opposite side, the mosaic is predominantly squares of silver material, but has three layers of gold material towards the bottom. The bridge itself is seen from the
side and has a white, texture, which suggests concrete. The arch appears to be made of yellow brick and there is a similarly colored border across the bridges top rail.
A narrow creek flows beneath it, with a narrow sandy beach on the right in the foreground and spring green trees shimmering in the expanse beyond the bridge. The trunk
of a sycamore tree is visible, as are several the other trees, but their branches are now shown as they ascend into the top border of the painting, which is
