as who Jesus is, or was, the reader can get new insight into various aspects of the life of Jesus and perhaps understand more about who he was. The following
paper answers particular questions, posed by the student requesting this paper, as it relates to NIV: Harmony of the Gospels. NIV: Harmony of the Gospels
The first question is What is the authors main purpose in writing this book/article? It appears as though the purpose of writing this work is to bring
the gospels to the people in a new way, in perhaps a more readily accessible manner to modern day readers. When one reads the gospels in the traditional manner, one
at a time, one can often forget what they previously read about the life of Jesus, or where they read something. In combining the gospels together so that the reader
gets various perspectives at any given time in the life of Jesus the story of his life becomes easier to understand and one can also gain more understanding of who
he was through the eyes of others. This seems to be the purpose of combining the gospels in this manner, and thus the purpose of offering the work up for
the reader. The second question asked is, List two items of information this book/article provided of which you were not previously aware.
