therein lies the problem. It seems that teens are the hardest hit and most affected demographic when it comes to net addiction. Dr. Mubarak Ali Rahamathulla along with many other
psychologists throughout the country, in conjunction with the American Psychological Association stated in a much-publicized movement against Teen Net Addiction, that overuse and abuse of the Internet by teens was
growing to epic proportions. Their solution to the problem is to have the emerging social problem formally labeled as an addiction, launch a full-scale recovery program, much as the successful
Alcoholics Anonymous, to aide teens and other net addicted people to free themselves of the terrible consequences of internet overuse. In cyperspace
it doesnt matter what ones income is. Looks, social class, and physique no longer matter in the cyberworld. For many this has tremendous appeal as hours and hours are spent
in virtual communities which cater to any number of interests and hobbies. Unfortunately, like with anything, there is a downside. It is this downside that has psychologists most worried, especially
where teens are concerned. It would seem that many teens are opting for cyber relationships as opposed to the flesh and blood variety. In many respects, these communities allow
these teens the freedom and boosts to self-esteem that may not be afforded them in the real world. In these communities they are able to be anyone they care to
create. They can become their alter egos on these sites acting as someone that they only dream of being in realtime. However, most psychologists state that this only prolongs the
inevitable and in the end, delays the necessary social interaction necessary for maturity and human development. As such, then, this issue is not a concern but a viable social problem,
