black, and a veteran of military service. Hes athletic and is proud of his accomplishments. His essay might be something like this: At the age of 24, I no longer
consider myself a very young man, especially since I served for four years in the military. The military taught me about leadership, taking responsibility, and learning how to work as
part of a team. It also made me grow up quickly, which is why I consider myself "older" than many guys my age who havent been in the armed forces.
Although Im glad I volunteered and I had some good times, there were some really bad times too. I did well in the service but couldnt see myself being a
"lifer." Thats not to say that Im not proud of myself and all the men and women who serve our country. Im very proud to have served, but Ive done
other things that make me even prouder. The thing that I really treasure above all else is my experience in athletics. I played soccer and ran track, and I loved
it. I particularly enjoyed soccer, which I played in Beaver Creek, Ohio, where I averaged three goals per game and was the center/forward on the team. My "hero" is Ronaldinho,
who plays for Brazil and was "a key player in Brazils victory in the Under-17 World Championship in 1997. And he scored 15 goals in 14 matches for Gremio" (Ronaldinho).
He has been compared to "the legendary Pele" (Ronaldinho) and won the "Copa America in 1999" by scoring six goals (Ronaldinho). He played for Brazil until he went to Barcelona
