to see people, adolescents especially, multitasking. One may see them doing homework while simultaneously listening to an ipod and texting a friend on their cell phone. Obviously, some are more
coordinated than others but most of todays generation is able to conduct these activities simultaneously and conduct them well. Texting while driving has also become commonplace although some states have
implemented anti-texting laws while driving to try and reduce the number of fatalities on the roadways. And now with the introduction of social networking sites like Facebook and Linkedin, many
people (professionals even) are multi-tasking by working their full-time job while not only chatting with friends but possibly network and building a potential clientele as well. In todays era with
the number of technologies that are available at ones disposal, multitasking has really become the norm. Whether it is work or pleasure, most people are seeing talking and driving, working
while chatting and sifting through email and conducting more than one activity at any given time. It has really become the norm. Most people believe their days are much more
productive when they multitask and to be honest if they didnt multitask, they would most likely consider their time relatively boring. Joanne Cavanaugh Simpson, an essayist and lecturer at Johns
