to an exploratory study. While the exploratory design is often used when there is little empirical evidence (Thames Valley University, 2004), a similar approach can be used when there is
a great deal of research. The object is to find patterns and trends. There is an abundance written on diversity in classrooms and on multicultural education. The researcher must narrow
the topic and one way to do that is to discover which topics are being emphasized at the present time. Like an exploratory design, the researcher has only an idea
