Hofestede’s model is discussed and used as a framework to examine the differences between the two cultures before recommendations are made to help the employer overcome the culture clashes. communicate with each other. Communication errors or misunderstandings can lead to a wide range of problems; it may be argued that it was the result of miscommunication or poor effective
communication practices that the Challenger shuttle disaster occurred. While not all issues concerning communication relate to life and death matters, truncation can be key to the success, or failure, of
a company in meeting it strategic goals. The problem in modern society is the way the communication takes place. In an increasingly
multicultural environment there is an increasing potential for misunderstanding. Communication is not the same all over the world, different aspects communication may be interpreted in divergent ways across different cultures.
For example, the thumb and forefinger used to create an O shape traditionally means okay in many Western European countries, however in Italy this is a major insult. It is
not only with hand signals, but aspects such as tone of voice, use of language, choice of words, level of formality expected manners and mannerisms and all kinds of non-verbal
communication that will be interpreted. It is possible that any or all of these could lead to some form of miscommunication or misunderstanding where there is communicating come from different
cultures. It is only by understanding the potential for cultural differences that can lead to province implication that strategies to overcome those difficulties
