not Amadeus (Schmidmaier) The following paper presents an examination of his life and works. Mozart: Life and Works Mozart was born
in 1756 in the town of Salzburg. (Schmidmaier). He was the second surviving child of his parents. (Schmidmaier) His father was also a musician and his name was Leopold, and
his mothers name was Anna Maria. (Schmidmaier) His father, as the musician, taught Mozart how to play the piano at a very early age and then Mozart began teaching
himself the violin, and began composing at the age of only 5. (Schmidmaier) When he was 6, he, "with his sister Anna Maria, five years older and known as Nannerl,
was taken on the first concert tour of Europe by their father and gained his reputation as a wunderkind." (Schmidmaier) It was reported, by his father, that in Vienna, at
the Imperial Court, Mozart was such a mischievous child that he climbed into the lap of the Empress Maria Theresa and gave her a kiss. (Schmidmaier) as his father
recorded, gave her a proper kiss. As an apparently gifted, and precocious, child he became the favor of many royal people, winning
