in 1946, and she took a short course with the Medical Mission Sisters in Patna. It was on December the 21st that her real mission begins, when she started visiting
the slums, helping the poor by caring for the children, helping the sick wash and general care for the "unwanted, the unloved, the uncared for" (Anonymous, 2004). Mother Teresa is
leading by example, and the message is heard as other start to follow her and help in the same work. This was only the beginning, she founded many spiritual and
charitable organisations, including the Missionaries of Charity Brothers and the Missionaries of Charity Fathers and the Co-Workers of Mother Teresa (Anonymous, 2003). In many ways Mother Terea may be
seen as a hero. If a hero is defined as "super human abilities, life-defining tasks, perseveres over something, have trials and tribulations" then many of these may be seen as
applicable to Mother Teresa Whilst at first glance she does not appear to have superhuman, which is often associated with unnatural power, such as super human straight, or superhuman speed,
as seen in many comic book heroes such as superman or the incredible hulk, a good definition may be that of " Beyond ordinary or normal human ability, power, or
experience" (Dictionary.com, 2004). Applying this we can look at the way she continued working with the poor and needy even when she was ill, the dangers she faced when continuing
her mission and the fortitude that accompanied it. This was well beyond the ordinary continuing in the face of adversity that would cause many of the best aid workers to
give up (Anonymous, 2003). Her life is certainly one that was defined by her tasks and her beliefs which were intertwined, driving her forward and taking mist of her lifes
